Sounds like an original WC 56 3/4 ton without winch. No idea of the current market value in the US but only the 3/4 ton WC 57 (with winch) would be worth more here in europe. Nicest Dodge ever made.

Expensive bits would be tailgate, hood frame, and the rear seat. Body floor is metal and straightforward (3/4 ton has a rear rubber floor mat so sheetmetal needent be exact) Of course if you take out the engine and cut into the firewall to put a V8 in it you have effectively burnt half the resale value, but that would probably just make mine more valuable.

No point in a V8 without a complete rework of suspension, steering, and axles anyway. If you want to do that Vintage Power Wagons will sell you a stripped shell and you can put anything on it you want.
