Knowing how things get swapped around over the years, the rims and hubs did not scare me off, as I have seen those before on Dodges.

The axle itself is not what I was looking for, so that made me lose interest, but then I wondered, One, what is this thing, and Two, are any of the parts Dodge?

The rear axle, and rear rims look somewhat Dodge, but IH could have used an axle that looked much the same.

The Transfercase makes me wonder, as I have never heard how to tell a NP202 froma NP201.

It would be nice if this turned out to be a 57 W200 with a IH front alxe added, but my guess is it is some kind of Mongrel of unknown heritage, or a 3/4 ton IH with a 57 D100 body.

One thing I love about finding this sort of stuff is that the person often holds a title to the sheetmetal, but in 1957 there is no tag on the truck to match! (well, one small disclaimer, some, a very few, 57s got a metal tag, and a few still have the paper tag, but that is RARE!)

Eric
