Stopped in two nights ago and visited for about an hour with John Eickhof. Got to view his collection and exchange stories. This afternoon, got called out on Search & Rescue to help an older gentleman who had lost his snowmobile down into a steep canyon. We had to get him out of there, as temperatures would hit close to 30 below zero tonight in the mountains. Come to find out, it was Adena Cook's husband Jeff. Adena is the director of the Blue Ribbon Coalalition who spearheaded quite a good write-up talking about John and the issues with the Federal Govt concerning the road at Jarbidge Nevada. Our S&R crew sat down and had dinner with Adena and Jeff and John's name was one of the subjects of discussion. Sitting in our group was a guy who did Forest Service maintainance on the Jarbidge road. He just gets a paycheck, he doesn't necesarily agree with their policies.
