Hi Paul,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it all has to come apart again. You forgot the bronze cone, its sitting on your spring. I dont know where the lockwasher thats laying on the ground goes but when you pull it all apart you should find out. My Daddy always said a good mechanic always has more parts when he is finished than when he started. Good work!
