A Zero was captured, and was flown by US personnel to evaluate it's performance. It was then shipped to the US for further testing and later sold for scrap. It was saved and now resides at the Chino Planes of Fame in Chino CA. It is the only completely original, flying Zero in the world.
Turns out the Zero was a nearly direct copy of the Hughes H-1 racer.
