Brian, I am NOT a painter, but I can tell you what works well for me. I have a TP Tools
( www.tptools.com ) turbine hvlp unit that I use for Primer and Chassis paint. I did use it to paint my Bumblebee in 2001. I bought a SATA HVLP down feed with the digital air micrometer for the Carryall. Even with my paint skills, the SATA made the difference in night and day shooting Base Clear. I NEVER shoot anything but Base.Clear in my SATA. I am sure some Body Shop guys here that can really help you more. I can only shoot user paint jobs.
