Go to the PW Archives and search "Spifire". You will get some great (accurate) information. You will learn that the head came on car engines in the late forties and car and truck engines in the early fifties. It was only available on the 251 and 265 engines which are both 25" long. It was not put on PW engines, though a number of them are sporting one now. There are no performance advantages, but those lightening bolts look really cool.
