losing oil pressure 318 la

wondering if anyone has ever heard of losing oil pressure, because of using 10w 40 motor oil to break it in???, my oil pressure starts out @50 lbs, then drops to 25 lbs quickly, then goes to 10lbs all this in about 5 minutes @ idle, thought my sending unit was bad on my electric gauge (wrong), found this out with a mechanical gauge, the machinist that did the work is going to come and listen to it run, as it's a brand new motor 2 of my cam bearings were off a little, and he redid my rods, two of them were no good so i gave him 2 more to hone for the crank, i think its time for the lawyer ,what do you'all think, (or is it just ass kicking time if he renigs) motor was put together by the book, primed, and ran 20 minutes @ 2000 rpms to break in the cam, thanks for any advice in advanceRICK
