Talked to tech dept. at Ram Clutch and we agreed the fork was to angled and I needed to shorten the ball stud. When I said I couldn't understand why the fork was at to much angle when the pressure plates looked identical, he said I had to compare the height of the levers when the plates were compressed with a clutch disc installed. So when the shorter stud didn't work I removed the clutch to compare plates. While setting the new plate up to measure it I noticed the levers were slightly longer causing them to contact the throwout bearing sleeve rather than the bearing itself. The sleeve would kick off to the side and bind up on the trans. Put the old pressure plate in, installed the trans for the fifth time, and everything is fine. Yes the new pressure plate was recommended to me buy the clutch factory tech guy. Ram Clutch 404 pressure plate does not fit a poly with an NP435 trans. Guess I'll be sending it back. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.....Paul
