The NP-205 MUST be a 1989 to 1993 Dodge that was mounted behind the Getrag on the Cummins Powered Trucks. This NP-205 is a direct bolt to a NV-4500. You will also need the drive coupling for a 1989-1993 Getrag/NP-205.

However the problem is that the drive coupling does not fit the oil seal on the NV-4500 end. Many people are depending on the seal in the NP-205 to prevent any cross contamination of oils between the T Case and The NV-4500. New Venture says the only oil that can be used in the NV-4500 is Castrol Syntorq, also sold by GM and Dodge at about $24 a pint. I did not want to trust only the seal in the NP-205. Correct seals to fit the NV-4500 and this drive coupling are not made.

So, I found a seal that would fit the NV-4500 opening correctly. Its inside diameter was
a few thousand's smaller. I turned the drive coupling for a proper fit in that seal, the NP-205 end was fine. Then before assembly, I put silicone in the splines of the drive coupling so if a seal went, oil could not cross contaminate by passage thru the drive coupling. Not a big job at all.
