I'm with you, Swede Lake trail is doable. I've been back to the Alphabet hills several times with the Argo. If I remember right its about 5 hrs with the Argo to Media Mt. Pretty rough trail. Once you cross the Middle fork of the Gulkana and get to Media MT you can go anywhere, unrestricted. The crossing is no problem. Lots of trails in the back country too--you can get to Dicky Lake. The Fish Lake trail is a good one too. I've traveled it in the Argo as well. Once you climb out of the valley bottom its all on top and good going to the Gakona. Good Bear hunting!!! I've never been all the way to the Gakona---once on top you can see a long way as your above tree line, and you can actually see the trail for miles. Neat country!!! I've been thinking of a spring Bear hunt there. We need to "thin 'em out".
