There is a copper mesh sold that looks like a very small braided ground cable or a chinese finger cuffs. It's called solder wick. It's used to "absorb" solder from circuit boards when removing components but should work well in your application.

To use, you put a little flux on the wick, place the wick over the solder to be sucked up and then heat the wick with the soldering iron or gun. Once the solder flows, it will transfer to the wick....like magic :-)

You should be able to find it at the local Radio Shack.
