I think I prefer the nice originals myself but they're just so rare & seldom for sale.
Probably the best I've ever seen is Steve Fowler's WM300 he had at Hollister last year.
Clint's trucks are beautiful, Wilbur was beautiful but still needed tons of repair. It needed a complete mechanical rebuild from Stem to Stern. There was rust perforation starting in the bed sides & header panel. There was surface rust covering the whole truck.
Lots of areas needed to be addressed or this truck would have been scrap in another 10 years or so & that's my general problem with guys leaving them "Original".
There is a big difference between Clint's original trucks & say my original 1946 WDX I hauled home from Oregon with every panel dented in. Clint's original trucks probably see more maintenance than most guys daily drivers.
