I have been a hunter, fisherman and trapper for most of my life. I enjoy hunting. I love to get outdoors and hunt, or fish or trap. I do this for several reasons, the main one being that to me, hunting is a source of 'grocery shopping' to me. I will eat almost anything I can shoot. I enjoy wild game meat, infact moreso than most other food. I also tan hides and that is alot of fun, and a small source of income as well. I also do it for pest control. Here in Michigan we have tons of car-deer wrecks and lots of deer damage crops. We have a problem with Racoons, Coyotes, Rabbits etc. And yes, I hunt all those, and more. When I get an animal, I try to use every bit of it that I can. I been tanning hides since I was about 13 or so. I also do it to presverve the old ways of life...and that is one of the same reasons I like POWER WAGON s! By keeping our Power Wagons going, we are preserving our old ways and heritage and by hunting, trapping, fishing, and tanning, we do the same thing, keep the old ways afloat for the younger generations. Harvesting of wild game is no different than slaughtering farm animals for meat. As for Northern Ca. Dave and his Cougar hunting! I wish ya luck and lots of fun! Sounds like a good time. Enjoy!
