I was redoing the front brakes on my 02 Chevy 1500 this morning and happened to see something that really suprised me. Sitting on top of the upper ball joint was this little bump. Thinking hard, cant quite remember what its called, put on my Power Wagon thinking cap and it comes to me immediatly. Its a grease fitting! WOW, checking the lower ball joint and low and behold there is another one. And yet another on the tie rod end. I thought they quit putting these archaic little things on vehicles 25 years ago. So, whats a guy to do, I threw a couple of pumps of grease into them, probably the first ones since the factory, I know the first since I bought it 20,000 miles ago. Made me think of Gordon Maneys lament for a couple of grease fittings on the front suspension of his Dodge Ram.
