Brian, Thank you for the info on surge brakes.
As to the parking brake, the M37 uses a band brake on the t-case rear centered output, and there is no similar mechanism on the M101.
Still, without looking into the trailer brake drum, and comparing it with the M37 hydraulics, I don't know whether the trailer's cable acutated brake could be used as well as the hydraulic system in the same brake assy. So many projects, so little time!
