If you've got the cabs side by side, you're in a better position to judge than the rest of us. What model truck did you say you are working on? If you plan to use a 2-speed transfer case, make sure the e-brake will clear the bottom of the cab.
When Dad restored his Auburn, the body had laid upside down in a dump in Oregon. He repaired the turtle shell on either side of the rumble seat with patches cut from '36 Ford truck fenders. They just happend to have the right compound curve.
