I've wondered the same thing, although I've never pulled the drums on my M101 to see how they differ from the M37 system. I assume that the surge system would have to include an electrically operated master cylinder which in turn would put the juice to the wheel cylinders. The hitch itself would have to be changed too. I am thinking it would be simpler to just swap for an A2.

Also, I don't know how the hand brakes could also then function. I don't know whether the A2s have hand brakes. I've found the hand brakes on my A1 to be very handy in a number of situations - much more secure than blocking the wheels to keep things from rolling away.
