Hi Jason, glad you're back.

We sometimes make the mistake as men of thinking that we must be masters of all things and in control of all of our life's issues. When something happens that suddenly reveals our actual frailty in this universe it is foreign to us. You are not expected to 'Get over' this tragic event. What you will do is learn to live with it, and through it.

Another mistake we make is in trying to figure out God. I look at it this way: if I can figure out God, then He isn't God! He must completely and thoroughly exceed me, as He did create the universe, and all that is in it, and creates mankind, and gives life and takes it away. We see the love of God in the creation and the life, and then suddenly we lose loved ones: hey, I thought you were a good God!? Well, we first see on the one hand that which we can know: God's love. On the other hand in tragedy we don't know, and that's the time to fall back to what we know for sure: God's love, and not try to figure out the rest right away.

It appears to me that there are times that God in His love sees those whom He simply cannot stand to be separated from for another instant. He does that which He does, and we are left feeling empty and lost. What we don't know is the rest of His plan, and we forget for a while that we will see them again, and that an entire eternity awaits.

It's going to be tough, and for a good long time, but after a while we learn to live with it better. Your emotions will be on a crazy roller coaster for a while, but that's normal, and you WILL get through it. There's a whole big family of friends here that love you and REALLY CARE ABOUT YOU! Stay close to family and friends, brother.
