I've just received a winch that I purchased a few weeks ago from a duece and a half military truck. It is indeed a 10,000lb winch, (Garwood), according to the id tag rivited to the body of the winch. But, it is the biggest 10,000lb winch I've seen! I bought the entire bumper, mount, frame extensions and winch assembly. The winch mounts on top of the frame rails and sticks up about 10 inches above the top of the truck frame. The widest point of the winch body is about 26 inches wide, not including any of the mounting hardware. The width of the assembly, from center of frame extension rail to center of frame extension rail is right at 31 inches. Be prepared if you buy one, these beasts are heavy! The winch with a full drum of 1/2 inch cable, 6 ft grab chain, all mounting hardware, front bumper, pto drive shaft and plastic shipping pallet weighed in at 575lbs. Let me know if I can help you with any measurements. By the way, I purchased mine from Dave at Eastern Surplus and Supply, from the links page here. I've no connection with this company, other than Dave provided excellent service!
