Use a putty knife and press the seal's holding rubber into the windshield's groove working it around the windshield. I've also slid the seal's holding rubber in the windshield's groove using a non-connected seal and then using silicone seal to connect the joints after it's installed. Installing it that way is a pain in the ^%&^
