On my trucks, I have a commercial glass company install the glass. Then BEFORE the windshield gets mounted on the truck, I install the gasket that waterproofs the metal frame to the PW Body. I do it flat on a padded table. I believe you would need serious medication to try it with the frame in place on the PW. I use a screw driver (flat blade), I rounded the bit of the screw driver in both directions so it would not, could not cut the gasket. The with soapy water, lube the channel and gasket.
Picked a start point at one corner and just start wroking the gasket into the groove. If the gasket is a good one (meaning the right size), its a stretch fit as you go around. One note, as you stretch it around the frame, be careful it does not try to walk with the soapy water so you end up with a corner not exactly at the corner.
