I can run in intermediate dry blowsand with mine, here is what my equipment is: 360 V8, NP435 transmission, std transfer, 4.89 gears, locker in the rear end and Gama Goat tires. I think you will be okay, just put a locker in the rear end, not the front, yes, a front locker will work better in the sand but might be a pain in the neck for other driving applications. Tires are very important, the big ballon NDT's will work better than a traction tread. Make sure your cooling system is working at it's max. I takes a lot of HP to run around the sand. Tom
