I lived in Hawaii in 1964. It was amazing the number of people that strapped their surfboards on top of their cars and went to the north shore. 50 foot waves breaking far out on the reef. At least all the surfboards remained on top of the cars, including my brother's. I know, it runs in the family.
I don't mean to make light of the recent disaster. I'm dumbfounded by the loss of life and the extent of this tragedy.
