...Dana, from the answers below it seems that every motor was balance individually, some have dampers some don't, depending upon the individual motors requirements. This sounds VERY Dodge for those days, if the assembly was with-in tolerance they went out with no vibration damper, if they were not with-in tolerance, Dodge slapped one on there. If you cannot determine the original condition of your motor,...alas you may have to balance the crank assembly (crank, rods pistons etc.) at a machine shop to find out if your assembly balance is correct. Check those sources to see if a vibration damper was even offered on the 270 as a part number option.
