Dissassembling my 53 for restoration, I notices grooves worn into the frame by ribs on the bottom of the body. Floorboards also contacted the tranny, transmit otherwise minor vibrations into noise. New rubber bumpers are not that hard to replace, VPW has them. I made a set out of surplus rubber mallets, I'll see how long they last. You might have to losen the bolts with a smoke wrench to get them out, probbably not been moved in 50 years.
