The following story will not be found in the mainstream liberal media, not on TV, not in the “newspapers” and not on very many radio stations. The Soldiers and Marines in Iraq, when they are on patrol, give out toys to the Iraqi children, after all, this is mainly a hearts and mind campaign that is for the long term. The purpose is to show the children that America and Americans are not the great Satan. Our mission is not to cut and run, but to make a lasting change in the Middle East in order to end terrorism and despair for future generations. Many of the toys are donated by ordinary Americans, there is a healthy supply constantly coming from the people of the United States.
A recent Marine patrol, in several Humvees, was traveling down a main road when the lead vehicle came to a halt, the radio crackled with anxious communications, “what’s wrong, what’s the hold-up?” A young girl was sitting in the middle of the roadway. After much discussion the convoy moved on, but in the next to last vehicle a young (they are all young) Marine recognized the girl and radioed that he was stopping. In her arms was a small teddy bear from America that she was clutching tightly to her chest. As the Marine approached he saw fear in her face, but a smile in her eyes. The Marine asked her if she was OK, and she said yes and motioned behind her. The Marine looked and saw a fresh patch of asphalt. The patch hid an Improvised Explosive Device, a dreaded IED. The young girl had sat herself down into the middle of the roadway so that the Americans would not drive over the mine.
The IED was disarmed and the patrol was saved, because of a small teddy bear given by an unknown American citizen. An unknown citizen that saved a convoy of Marines from injury or death.
Don’t fall for that corrupted thought that you can be against the war on terror but still support our troops. There is only one way to win this war and that is for every American to comprehend that this is a war that will not end until one side or the other loses. Peace will not be negotiated, Peace will not be from a treaty, Peace will only come from complete and absolute victory over those that want us dead. The enemy does not see conservatives or liberals, democrats or republicans, black or white. The enemy sees only Americans and they want us dead. Our future lies our ability to kill those that hate us and be-friend those that don’t. That little girl is one of thousands of Iraqis that welcome their liberation. Their numbers grow everyday and that is the story you do not hear. The sooner we unite and support our troops the sooner they can come home with their mission accomplished. Our enemies are counting on a divided America to retreat in defeat. That is not going to happen.
