We are up-country in northern Thailand. I prefer the mountains to ocean (more off-roading). This was the 4th largest earthquake in recorded history (9.0). The quake originated in Shri Lanka killing at least 5,000. Several hundered drowned on the central Thai coast at Phuket which unfortunatly is the main tourist area. We were going to go there in about a week to visit friends whos house is right on the coast. Still trying to get through to them to find out if they are OK. Hope everyone has a fun and safe New Year!
