...most of you are missing. Highway performance and off-road performance are not the same thing. The 251 revs higher and developes it torque at a higher rpm range. For off-road you want a motor that developes it torque off idle, not at higher rpms. The 251 may be the better motor for the highway, but the 230 is a better motor for off-road. That is why Jeeps still have an in-line 6 while everyone else has gone to a V-6. A V-6 is a good car motor, but too weak at low rpm to be a serious truck motor off-road. Now if you really want good off-road performance, there is this motor caled the Poly....
