Well, it has been most interesting indeed. First I must say that your original post seems to have been inappropriate to this forum. I must add to that, however, that this is not your fault.

In almost any other circumstance a man or woman can simply add the letters OT before the subject line and anything goes: how the new dog hunts, juniors braces, or his grades in school, or the price of sow bellys and pork futures. Politics gets mentioned often enough as well.

I say almost any other circumstance because there is one area that is considered completely taboo: RELIGION.

I see that your entire post was directly connected to Dodge, Power Wagons, military history and world affairs, plus some mention of God. I do not see anywhere in your posts where you tried to stuff anything down anybody's throat or where you tried to convert anybody. You simply stated your belief, as it relates to the subject matter of this forum, and then simply stated that you believed it.

I also notice that at all times you remained a complete gentleman, and did not attack anyone or try to embarrass or poke fun of anyone in any way. Actually you didn't even fight back at all, but let it come as it did and took it, like a man. I admire that.

The amazing things are first: the vicious outpouring against you, of ridicule, mocking, insults and taunts! It would have sufficed for the other men to simply say: "Please do not post threads with any religious content, as it is not allowed here."

That implies somewhat of a strongarm takeover of course, because the only person that has the last say and the control over these boards is Joe Cimoch. The others seem to have decided that they are in control by majority and by their common agreemement of what is acceptable and what is not. Gang rule.

The second amazing thing is how close to the history of Dodge Power Wagons the whole subject of your post is! How can anyone see the history of Power Wagons, and America's other military vehicles, without having at least rudimentary understanding of the predominate beliefs of the nation and people that produced them, and of the reason they needed to be built?

What was the 'Big War' all about? Religion and politics. What was the next war, the forgotten war, all about? Religion and politics. What was the Vietnam war all about? Religion and politics. What is the current war all about? Religion and politics.

The Power Wagon came to be the backbone of the American drive to enlighten the world to its ideology of a better way to live, which drive was the sustaining force in several past and current wars. You hit the nail right on the head, Mr Davis, but you erred.

You dared to connect the dots, and destroyed too many people's fuzzy image of the relationship between right and wrong, and good and evil. By your error evil reared its ugly head, and you were ridiculed, spit upon, struck, and layed naked before the crowd, while you did not even defend yourself or strike back. Well, congratulations, sir, as you are in very good Company. As a matter of fact we, some of us, will be joyfully celebrating His birthday in a few short days.

God bless ou, RDavis, sir, and have a very merry CHRISTmas, and many happy new years.

JimmieD
