I've actually got several books on the subject, but all they say is that they won the contract.

I was just interested in determining why some of the decisions were made which ultimately lead to the PW. For instance why was a wood bed used, when other trucks of the period had steel beds, or why would such a small motor be used like a 230?

I thought it was just an interesting question to understand exactly it was created.
