Think of 1/2t or rear wheel drive cars- most drums are on rear axles, and can't be turned on the hub- there isn't any hub. There is a system for turning them that works fine.

But why do you feel the need to turn them anyhow? If no problem, why turn away ir-replaceable antique material for no reason?
