Watch that ATF, as it contains LOTS of detergents, and is very thin. Personally, I would not run it on straight ATF, but on 1-2 quarts of ATF MAX and the rest oil. The super high detergents in the ATF may dislodge alot of sludge particles that might plug oil flow passages etc.

One other thing to check before you start it, is make sure the muffler has not 'collapsed' or that there are any obstructions in the exhaust such as mice nests. I bought a 1970 W-200 back in 1999 that had been parked and not started since '79 I got it running, but it ran very poorly, it would stall easily, had NO POWER, would not rev up, and ran hot etc. I could not for the life of me figgure it out. A freind of mine suggested that Something was clogging up the exhaust. I had planned on putting a dual exhaust on it anyhow, so I hacked the exhaust off, and jumped in, and it fired right up, smoked and ran sorta ruff about 20 seconds, then it cleared right up, and ran like a new truck. I had did a complete tune up to it, put a different carb on it, and fresh gas into it. After it ran 10 min I took it for a drive around the yard....it moved under its own power for the first time in 20 years! So be sure that exhaust is not plugged somehow.....
Good luck!
