Avoid all Dodge 4 x 4s between 1975 and 1980. The Chrysler corp was in major trouble at that time and many things were skimped on in design and production. Those are the most problematic years. The engines run great but the rest of the truck kind of falls apart around the engine. I could go on and on about the differences in Dodges of that period but if you ask around you will find similar assessments from other Dodge nuts like me
