My dad was in the 9th Air Force training flight crews at Pueblo, Colorado. He went to England about a year before D day and would only tell me that he had administrative duties. His uniforms do not show any sign of being with the 8th Air Force. Just the Air Corps Shoulder patch and wings & prop pins. He was injured around D day and never would speak about what happened. I have a collection of action paintings in a book he got from the Air Corps around 1946. It is a slick print of what appear to be water colors. There are numerous staff cars depicted, Command Cars, and open cab bomb loaders (sloping hood looks like 1/2 ton.) There might be one closed cab in a painting of the Port QM Headquarters in Massawa (Africa) and one in a painting of Retreat at Gangway in England. Afraid the water colors only alude to what the trucks look like. BOB
