I finished watching the epic movie GIANT last night and continued to watch the behind-the-scenes filming, which is included in the purchased video. The location of the filming
was in Marfa, Texas, in the western part of our state. Through out this, many locals are shown or interviewed, and they repeatedly show a young girl with her autograph book. As the film crew is leaving town, a man jumps off one of the film trucks and runs up to the girl, handing her signed photos of Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson. When the man returns to the truck, he is followed by a Flat Fender PW with a rear body similar to a firetruck, high sided. The truck is rigged with a platform type lift up front and various ladders, the spare tire is mounted behind the rear wheel, and a big Texas State outline is on the side. Equally as interesting is the early fifties pilot house era one ton Dodge with a special body, sort of a Panel type, but more bulbous, and appears to have 9.00 x 16.0s.
