Well, the zoning gestapo paid me another visit the other day. They didn't like my Power Wagon as it is too old. It's properly registered though so they couldn't do anything about it. However, I had one car that I had forget tp renew and it got tagged for towing. The Sheriffs deputy that did the ticketing was reasonable though. If I put it on my insurance and got up to date tags, and moved it every now and then, I would be okay.

When I mentioned that I would prefer to sell it as it is in my way he said I should go ahead. When I said I was forbidden by the zoning board, he said not to worry about them and to put for sale signs up anyway. I was then given three days to clean my property up so the Yuppies that are moving into the neighborhood wouldn't be offended.

Since I don't want to be politically incorrect, I am now in compliance (at least until they change their minds again) and have removed several Yard Sale signs from my property and returned them to their owners. They were unhappy but I told them if they had a complaint, take it to the Sheriffs department as it is Sheriffs orders to remove signs of commercial activity.

As we were talking, the towing company drove by with one of my neighbors cars. 7 or 8 of us were ticketed that week.

WARNING!!!! If you live in Indiana, it has declared war on old clunkers. In 1998 the Indiana general assembly passed a law giving the local governments authority to consider as abandoned any vehicle that is more then three (3) model years old and isn't driven for 21 days. It need not be on public streets either. If it can be seen from public right of way, then it can be ticketed and towed. It makes no difference if it is properly licensed or not.

It is quite possible that someone could win the lottery and buy themselves a 4 year old Ferrarri and then go on their dream trip to Europe for a month. The car could be towed as abandoned when they got back.
