None of the M37 engines had poured babbit bearings. All took inserts. As far as I know, none of the latter production flathead engines from Chrysler used poured bearings, since 1940 anyway. Dunno about earlier than that. Both the 218-230 family of engines and the 251 family have always used insert shells. I believe most auto makers quit using poured bearings in the late thirties.
