I'd guess you mean the Chevrolet 1.5 ton panel van, which looks a lot like a Carryall. Came in two varieties, the plain van and the Signal Corps truck which had side extensions on the body and normally towed a 1 ton Ben Hur with the jeep-engined generator set.
There is a particularly good set of images on the Library of Virginia Signal Corps site featuring a whole pier load of these trucks with the genset trailers, and the same site has images of stacked WC 4 x 4 and 6 x 6s, plus factory fresh WC 53, plus WC 56 Command cars with the windscreens boxed for shipment
(Knew I'd get some Dodge stuff in if I kept at it long enough)
