I am currently restoring a 78 2 WD truck with a 225 engine, I have a manual on order but it's not here yet, I'm in the UK.
I have stripped the engine down, and looking at the bearings on the crank. I'm wondering if they are standard or oversize. The only ID marks is an e and 5-73. Which doesn't make much sense to me. The pistons are standard so I'm going to rebore and fit oversize pistons, would it be 10 thou? I expect the crank will be standard as well. The truck is registering 99000 miles, there is evidence of scoring on the rod bearings and the mains so I guess it has been run hot at some time.
Any information would be helpful.
