You can also have a Pennsylvania state inspection mechanic verify the weight rating. This can be done in place of a tracing.There is a place on PA form MV-1 for this. A good quality tracing of the vin tag is nearly impossible. I did trace the frame number on one truck and it was also acceptable. You will also need the unladen weight for MV-1. I have done trucks this way in the past. You need to find someone in you area that knows how to do the odd title stuff on old vehicles. It is not that hard to do.
