Thank you gentlemen, one and all. To be honest, these positive replies were JUST WHAT I EXPECTED HERE!

Just as on Gordon Maney's site for Power Wagon Advertiser Forums, there is a different sort of critter that inhabits these environs. It's guys [mostly] that have a special respect and reverence for the former things, as those very substantial things of our yesterdays, once sculpted into metal in these Power Wagons.

Just as it seems almost everything you can buy nowadays is junk, lacking in quality, and made of inferior materials by people with a skewed idea of honest value, so it is in the state of current social affairs and consciousness. Somebody dropped the ball some years back, and we are living in the aftermath of the 'other team' gaining control!

We can weep in our coffee, cry in your beer or kick rocks in the yard but that won't change a single solitary thing. You all noted that the post I made ended with one thing: Duty.

Some would bristle that the first duty mentioned was that to God, and thence to fellow man, and to country. Folks will just have to sort that first one out themselves as I see it. Regardless of that outcome the second and third are still staring us right in the face: Duty, to fellow man, and country.

If we really believe in the older, better things, and truly know in our hearts that there is a right way of doing things, like building trucks and which is revealed in our wonderful old Dodges, then we must do what we always do: ROLL UP OUR SLEEVES AND GET TO WORK!

Duty demands that we stand, and speak, and fight for that which is right. Here in California many failed to do that, and now in other states. A disgusting group decided it was far better to force the crushing of our beloved old trucks and cars, simply to generate higher revenues from newer vehicle licensing and taxations. Many vehicles, thousands upon thousands, have been lost forever due to laxities on our part.

The time is now, and the men and women called are you and me, not them. That's YOU AND ME, in case it was missed. This is not about politics in any way, shape or form; nor is the aspect of religious preference any part of it in the basic idea. That is a common ploy by the 'other team', by the way.

It is about demanding that the better ways, the ways of true worth, and values, and enduring qualities be our only acceptable choice. Look around and see: there are no others who will carry on! If we really value these concepts that were so alive when these great old Dodge trucks were made, and which even caused them to be made, then we have to FIGHT to maintain those same things.

Folks, it's up to us, to stand, and speak, and fight against the current tide. There is a better way, and there are far higher concepts of decency, order, values and true worth which we must carry on. It is time to go to work, and even to all out war.

Therefore, I call you to arms, but not of course to weapons of war in any way. Instead use that which has been the foundation of morality and ethics since the beginnings. Refuse the inferior, speak out against the lies, reject the status quo and demand excellence in all things wherever possible: and teach your children and grandchildren and neighbors the better way.

That is what made a boat trip into a colony, and a colony into a statehood, and statehoods into a Confederation, and Confederation into the single most beautiful and powerful example of honest values ever known in the history of the world: America, the United States of America.

"Daddy, where do Power Wagons come from...?"

"America, boy, America, the one and only good old USA. Sit down here for a minute, son......"

Thank you,
JimmieD
