839177758 is not a valid serial number...

If it was 83917758 (note only two 7s instead of three) then it is a 1950 B-2 PW built in Detroit.

As such it should have a first series 4 pocket bed, and first series gauges with a 50-0-50 AMPS gauge. The inside and outside door handles will either be the mid year 1946-1949 style, or the ones that I think were used in 1950, and possibly part of 1951 only.

The engine should be a T137 block, with a number in the range between T137-15000 and T137-21000. May be higher or lower, these numbers are based on a dozen or so trucks I have collected data from.

The body tag should be between 4312-15000 and 4312-18000, again these numbers are not carved in stone, if you get the actual engine number and body tag number I can give you a better idea if they are original or not.

The Rim date codes should be 49 or 50.

The winch (if so equiped) should have a date of 49 or 50.

Check these pages to learn more details about the differences between the years of PW:

If you need more details about the numbers, handles, or any other details about the truck, please let me know.

Eric
