When I was a freshman in high school, I fell asleep while driving home one evening. My car, a 1981 Toyota Celica, rolled 3 times and flipped end over end twice. It came to a rest on it's wheels with the roof crushed down to the top of the doors. I got out and walked the last mile to home. I had a concussion and spent the night in the hospital. If I won't have had a seat belt on, I would be dead, no doubt about it.
I knew a girl in college who had been thrown through a windshield of a pickup when her boyfriend drove off an approach. She had landed on the point of her chin and her lower jaw had broken at the curve on both sides and the broken ends had been shoved out through her cheeks. After many surgeries, she looked almost normal from 10 feet away. As you got closer, you could see that her face was a mass of tiny scars, from plunging through the glass.
Wear your seat belt.
