We used to have large herds of Moose in the Adirondack prior to 1900. There were quite a few Moose in my area, thats how the original name Moose Creek Maple was started a 138 years ago. Presently there is about 12 moose that encon reports in the Adirondacks. The Moose have come here from Vermont they figure. They were not introduced, and are being allowed to do their thing without outside help. Most all have tracking collars.
