Hi David,
I am not sure where you live, but here in Vermont, I notice a huge difference with my construction compressor that we lug around to job sites. In the summer it works like a charm. In the winter it is sometimes hard to get it to go, throwing circuit breakers and needing to be run with the valves open to warm it up. It can be a real hassle. Assuming it is piped correctly and drained on a regular schedule the condensation should not hurt anything. My stationary compressor in the woodshop is inside bur the intake filter is drawing air from the outside. This has worked well for me.
