2002 was the last year for Ram cab/chassis, tagged as a 3500 but rated at 23,000 (look at that frame!) The new Ram body and frame is much different and a "Bed off" option only gives you a 1 ton truck without....a bed. Short wheelbase and not the rating of a true cab/chassis. Dodge had 3500, 4500 and 5500 models on the drawing boards when the jerries took over,. they killed the plans and offered instead...a Sprinter cab/chassis, so for now, until at least 2006 you will have to wait.
Sammy, I have written many times here about my pathetic ferd diesel so I won't go into detail except to note that three motors, two transmissions, and failure of nearly every component, plus trim and detail parts, including paint, does not constitute a "good" truck. It was my first and last ferd truck, if the word truck can be used in the same sentence as ferd. Yes they make and sell a lot of them, just once again proving that P.T. Barnum was right. Sometimes brand loyalty has more to do with habit than brains, that's the only excuse I can come up with for ferd truck sales.
