Winch frame/extensions question

On my winch equipped PW, on a used winch assembly that I bought for Doc Daves truck, and on a fire truck winch that I seen, the (tow) hooks, (or eyelets in my case), both point inwards / \ towards the winch. Is this the way they're supposed to be or were these winches hooked up to something and "hard-pulled" causing the extensions/frame to bend
inwards??
They both are "bent" at the exact same angle.
