I have made the pilgramage to Russ Morgans several years ago. I have never made it to the Idaho Trail Ride, let alone to Camp Hale. Anyone interested in reading about the first selected site, Hale was actually the 4th, email me at snakeriv@srv.net and I will send it to you. The West Yellowstone Site, actually in Idaho, began construction in the fall of 41 before Pearl Harbor. After we entered the war and due to political pressure, construction ceased here in the spring of 42 and immediatly went to Camp Hale. We still have 2 paymaster vaults, footings, and a large semi sunken room left at the site. Tom
