Thanks for the feedback Clint. I don't use my PWs for heavy loads anymore -1500 pounds tops- so guess I have a different view.

I like the idea of original too, but I don't like the idea of working a good original PW too hard, leaving it outside, and so on. I am compromising by having a super clean original garage ornament and a #2 for off-road use.

For my #2 I am pretty slack on service parts: switches, wires, brake tubes, ignition, belts, hoses... and springs. This is especially true if the new stuff is better - I would feel real dumb putting cloth covered wire on my #2 because a good work truck mechanic would not do that to a real work truck if he could get cheaper/better modern wire.

I would also feel real dumb putting modern wire on my #1.
